one village transformed project
From 2012 to 2018 SCC partnered with World Concern, Alderwood Church, and Mayen Village in our One Village Transformed project. The goal was to transform a village in South Sudan by the Gospel in a wholistic way, in Christ. First, the gospel. A church was been planted. But God wasn’t done. We hoped for one church, but God blessed it and now multiple churches in multiple villages in the whole region have been planted. It’s multiplying through local evangelists from World Concern and Africa 2 Africa. It’s growing through audio Bibles, the Jesus Film and local Pastors. They’re preaching the Word, changing lives and establishing churches. The Sudanese in these villages are dropping their animistic worldview and embracing Christ.
Not only that, but now they are experiencing:
· Sustainable dry-land agriculture
· Improved hygiene and sanitation
· Literacy programs (and they are reading the Bible!)
· Clean water wells
There is so much to be thankful for. While we have completed our financial commitment, we continue our relational friendship. We’re grateful for what God continues to do! Thank you for the part you played.
