Ensenada, Mexico - Spring 2024
This mission trip has been in the works for a little while. There has been a desire amongst families and the mission team to have a family mission trip. That is a trip that allows parents and kids to serve alongside each other on the mission field. We had to find a trip that would work for children as well as adults. We have had several youth teams go to YUGO in Ensenada, Mexico and felt that it would be possible to take children under the care of their parents. Although it is uncommon, we felt that it was something we wanted to do to not only serve the people in Mexico, but to also plant the seed of mission in the hearts of our children.
Our first family mission team was made up of 7 families and one single adult, which comes out to 15 adults and 17 kids. This trip was an amazing experience for all involved! We partnered with YUGO, an organization that partners with local pastors to help identify families in need of housing. While in Ensenada, we built a home for a sweet young family. In the afternoons, a group of us put on a VBS for the children that attended or lived around the church. All of this we did while working alongside the local pastor and his wife. We also had the opportunity to attend a local church service and worship alongside the families in the church. It was such an amazing time of families not only working and serving together, but also worshipping together. We are excited about the future of family mission trips!
