What is FIT?
The SCC First Impressions Team is who a visitor sees first when they drive into our lot…walk through our doors…enjoy a beverage - and so much more.
All of our FIT serving areas are broken into teams who serve on rotations. Only want to serve once a month? No problem! Want to serve every week? We have a place for you. We want to fit everyone’s schedule so that being a part of this team is a joy and something to look forward to, and not an obligation.
There are six main divisions of FIT: Greeting, Coffee, Response, Usher, Grounds, and Welcome. There is a short description of each below. Greeting
Being noticed when you walk through unfamiliar doors is a warm feeling no matter who you are. People have walked through our doors and left without having said a word! Imagine if that were you. Not super welcoming, right? That’s where greeters come in. Greeters are there to ensure every person is warmly welcomed and to make their visit to SCC one they want to repeat.
Ideal For: Extroverts, Outgoing-Introverts, Introverted-Extroverts.
Response
Our response team is an amazing group of people willing to jump to the aid of anyone in need. This team is able to help in emergencies and provide assistance in other areas on Sundays as needed.
Ideal For: Those able to act under pressure.
Coffee
Coffee is more than a beverage. It’s a way to connect.
Our coffee ministry is a great way to get involved if you like to stay behind the scenes. This position is broken into shifts and depending which you choose, involves setting up the coffee area and making coffee, or refilling the coffee urns and supplies and cleaning up.
Ideal For: Introverts, Outgoing-Introverts, Introverted-Extroverts.
Usher
SCC Ushers have the great responsibility of finding room for everyone who attends. They’re responsible for providing bulletins, collecting tithes, passing communion, answering questions, and solving problems the rest of us simply don’t see.
Ideal for: Extroverts, Outgoing-Introverts, Introverted-Extroverts, and those with attention to detail.
Grounds
The SCC grounds is the first thing someone sees when they pull in. Maintaining beautiful gardens, hanging baskets, manicured lawns, and clean and safe parking lots and sidewalks is all part of what makes this such an important team.
Ideal For: Everyone!
Welcome
The welcome team is the newest arm of FIT. More than ever, it’s important for those visiting to know they were seen and heard. The welcome team follows up with visitors via note cards (cards and postage provided) and calls. We want to extend that personal touch to each person who walks through our door.
