Ambassadors for Christ

Every believer has been rescued, saved, reconciled to God through Jesus Christ. And every believer has a new Christ-centered identity, part of which is “Ambassador for Christ”. Here’s how Paul expressed it.

All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. . . .
— 2 Corinthians 5:18-20 ESV

It means that all believers, former enemies of God due to sin, now SAVED, reconciled and adopted as members in God’s family, are SENT out by the Lord to deliver the Good News gospel message to the unsaved world. Living as ambassadors for Christ begins next door with our neighbors and closest relationships and extends to the mission to every nation on earth.

Living as an ambassador for Christ is not a special calling for uniquely gifted Christians. It’s the privilege, assignment and identity of all of us “ordinary” Christians.

So we interviewed a few of those “ordinaries” from SCC who are living out what it means to be an ambassador for Christ. We pray that their example and responses to the six questions will encourage, challenge, and inspire you to do the same.
