Conversations Class (Starts September 23)

Sept 23-Oct 7, 9:45-10:45am. Learn the art of conversation that leads to talking about Jesus in a natural way. Led by Doug Tilford. Write “conversations” on your connection card to sign up.

SCC Ministry Academy

SCC Academy is a church-wide discipleship ministry that offers strategic short-term courses to promote spiritual maturity among the believers of Snohomish Community Church. Each course is taught by a Masters Seminary professor through the Institute of Church Leadership in a video format. The Masters Seminary charges $70 per person to take the course.

The courses run approximately every other Tuesday evening beginning October 9th. They meet in the Family Center from 6:30 – 8:00pm. The courses are both academic and personal in nature and requires approximately 1.5 to 2 hours of homework per week. SCC Academy is offering two courses this semester.

 

Old Testament Survey I

Taught by Abner Chou and facilitated by Pastor Fred Williams and Glen Ness. This course covers the major themes and events of the books of Genesis through Second Samuel tracing the major developments and rich history, highlighting the important features to help aid believers in their own personal study.

MOPS (resumes september 25, 2018)

MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) is a Christ-centered opportunity for moms to meet for encouragement, food, friendship and growth. Moms receive support and companionship as well as helpful tips from our guest speakers on raising children and building a stronger home. During each meeting our children are well-cared for by fabulous volunteers in our MOPPETS program.

We want to help men make the most of their life by being real while we pursue being who God has made us to be. We do this by getting together regularly for monthly breakfasts, in small groups (which we call life groups), at our biannual retreat and engaging in activities (hiking, biking, golfing, etc.).

(8:00-9:30am, $5) Join us Saturday morning for our Men’s Breakfast with Dr.Fred VanGorkum as our speaker! Connect with other men, hear a great message and enjoy great food. Registering in advance really helps our cooks know how many are coming so invite a friend and register today.


Men's B.C. Adventure (September 27-30)

This men's retreat weekend in beautiful Malibu BC will encourage you and grow your heart for God. Enjoy great tasting meals, comfortable accommodations, lots of free time, music & entertainment. We'll also have outstanding teaching in the Word and time to connect with other men.

At Snohomish Community Church we love students! MSM and HSM are a place for middle school and high school students to feel welcome and find a place where they can grow in relationships, both with God and others.


Meeting Times

Sundays

  • Middle School: Sundays at 9:45am

  • High School: Sundays at 11:15am

Thursdays

  • Middle and High School: Life Groups Thursdays at 6:30pm


Worship Services (Sundays)

We have gatherings of Middle School and High School Students that meet on Sundays for fun, worship, teaching and some brief small group time. This is our large group event for the week.

  • Middle School: 9:45am in the Student Center

  • High School: 11:15am in the Student Center

Student Life Groups

Student Life Groups are your chance to connect with other students going through the same things you are and a mentor to help take you to the Bible to figure it all out. High School and Middle School Groups meet on Thursday nights at 6:30pm. 

We will have an Open House Night on Sept. 20th and fall kick-off will be Oct. 4th.

We will be hosting our 3rd annual Christmas Banquet. This is a great time to dress up, take pictures, have a great meal together, honor our leaders, and look back and celebrate what God has done in our Student Ministry this past year.

We are here to help parents raise a generation of kids who worship God from the inside out. We do this by helping parents establish the Word of God their homes, where their kids have the opportunity to know and follow Jesus, be changed by him and become committed to His mission.

Awana (Wednesdays, 6:30-8:00pm)

It’s that time of year again, register your kids for Awana! This is a great time for kids to have fellowship with one another, play fun games and most importantly, learn God’s word in a smaller group setting where we focus on discipling. Join us Wednesdays from 6:30-8:00! Awana Groups start October 3.

Route 66 Monday Bible Class

Meets normally on the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th Mondays of the month, 10:30-11:30am in Building B (There are a few holiday exceptions). Our fall kick-off will be Monday, September 10 as Pastor Tim begins our new study through the Book of Romans. Every lesson features careful Bible exposition, practical life applications, and detailed printed take-home notes.

Roadside Diner Luncheon Series

Roadside Diner meets on the 3rd (or 2nd) Monday of the month, 12:00-2:00pm in Building B. We always start with lunch at noon. Sometimes the Diner provides the all or part of the meal—and sometimes we do potluck.  Watch the church bulletin and/or your mailbox for monthly food specifics.

Grandparents At Prayer (GAP) Group

Grandparents are invited to join the GAP group that meets on the first Sunday of each month (although it is sometimes changed due to church calendar events) at 8:15 am (during the first service) in Room B7 as we gather together to share devotions and pray for our grandchildren.

Is celebrated on the second Sunday in September each year as we honor and give thanks for grandparents.

Grandparenting Matters Seminar

Will be held on Saturday, Nov. 3 2018, at Alderwood Community Church in Lynnwood. SCC will co-host this event that will feature Larry Fowler, founder of Legacy Coalition, a national grandparenting ministry. This seminar is designed to awaken, encourage and equip intentional Christian grandparents to leave a legacy of faith for their grandchildren.

Grandparenting Classes

Are offered at various times during the year to bring grandparents together for fellowship and to study God’s Word and new resource materials.

SCC offers marriage enrichment opportunities throughout the year to help couples strengthen their marriage to last a lifetime.


Celebrate Marriage “Round Up” DAte Night

On Saturday, Oct. 13th at 5:45pm all couples are invited to this annual celebration of marriage as we gather together for a special date night with great fun, food & fellowship. Come dressed in your western garb! Cost is $15 per couple and childcare available by reservation.

A weekend away (held every other year) at a special venue for a program that includes marriage enrichment teaching, worship, fellowship, and times for couples to focus on each other.

Marriage Conferences and Seminars

Special marriage enrichment programs held at SCC on a Friday night or Friday-Saturday in the winter or spring every other year.
