ACBC Counseling Courses at Snohomish Community Church!

We're thrilled to offer two upcoming training courses that dive deep into how the Bible applies to all areas of life. These courses will take place over three weekends, with sessions on Fridays from 6 pm to 9:30 pm and Saturdays from 9 am to 4:30 pm. 

Dates: January 24th, 25th, February 28th, March 1st, and March 28th, 29th.

We’re offering two tracks:

  1. Fundamentals of Biblical Counseling

  2. Advanced Track (for those who have completed the Fundamentals Track)

The registration fee is $299* for individuals and $550* for married couples. Speaker Biographies

Don Roy

Don Roy attended the United State Air Force Academy and studied Basic Theories of Science before serving 30 years in the navy. He was an F-14 Tomcat Radio Intercept Officer (RIO) and served in many command and officer positions including Chief of Staff for Commander, Naval Air Force Reserve. He returned to school to pursue a doctorate degree at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Biblical Counseling. Don is a Fellow with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors. He also serves as a missionary with Biblical Counseling Ministry Worldwide, where he teaches biblical counseling in churches and seminaries around the world, with a current focus on Madagascar, Zimbabwe, and South Africa. He also serves as a chaplain and aircrew in the Civil Air Patrol. Don is the Training Center Director for the Institute in Biblical Counseling and Discipleship and is an adjunct professor with Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte NC, where he teaches biblical counseling. He and his wife Elizabeth have been married for 42 years and have 10 children and 16 grandchildren.

Andrew Rogers

Passionate about discipleship and equipping God’s people for ministry, Andrew has served the church for over 27 years as a pastor, professor, and missionary. He received his B.A. from California State University, Fresno, a M.A. from The Master’s University, a M.Div. from The Master’s Seminary, and a Th.M. and Ph.D. from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Andrew and his wife, Jenny, live in Anaheim Hills, CA, and have four children, Zach, Hayden, Kailey, and Paige. He currently serves as a pastor at Kindred Community Church and as Executive Director of Overseas Instruction in Counseling, a ministry devoted to strengthening churches around the world through biblical counseling. He is also a Fellow and Board Member with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC), and a member of The Evangelical Theological Society (ETS).

Joel Wood

Joel Wood became Senior Pastor of New Life in October, 2021. His great desire is to equip and empower the church for faithfulness and fruitfulness through preaching, counseling, and teaching. He is a Fellow with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors, operates veritysoul.org is an adjunct professor at City Seminary (Sacramento, CA), Westminster Seminary (Philadelphia), Biblical Counseling Ministry Worldwide, and is ¼ of the Jerusalem Chamber podcast. He has been married to Emily for 21 years and loves spending time exploring the West Coast with her and their children.

Wayne Vanderwier

Wayne is privileged to serve God as the Director-at-Large of Overseas Instruction in Counseling, an international biblical counseling training ministry (and ACBC Certified Training Center) featuring both local church-based (CLT) and graduate-level degree programs (MABC) serving in more than 40 nations around the world. Wayne was a pastor for 32 years. He is a Fellow of the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors. He is also certified by IABC.

Wayne is husband to Susie (for 48 years), the father of five adult children, and “Opa” (because of his Dutch heritage) to 21 grandchildren.

John Lehman

John Lehman is an ACBC Fellow, an author, and has been the pastor for counseling, families, and missions at Hampton Park Baptist Church in Greenville, SC. He grew up in Taiwan and lived there for fifteen of his first eighteen years of life. John and his wife, Suzie, have four adult children and twelve grandchildren. He is now serving and encouraging pastors both locally and globally through Words Fitly Spoken.
