OUR PEOPLE

SCC is made up of people from all walks of life. We are your co-workers, neighbors, and friends. Regardless of where you are in your spiritual journey you are welcome here and we would love to have you. Come as you are, SCC does not have a formal dress code.

Our Services

Our Sunday Morning services are comprised of singing, teaching (going through scripture verse by verse), a time of prayer, and offering. Our services usually run about 65 minutes.  If you want to get a sense of what we're about, you can view one of our live services or archived messages.

Children and Students

SCC offers Sunday morning programs for Children birth to 12th grade; staffed by a group of very gifted volunteers and staff members. Our programs are designed to help children and students follow Jesus and grow in their faith. (see ministries for times and info.)

Sunday Service Times: 8:15am, 9:45am & 11:15am (Map)

About Us

Our Purpose and Beliefs

In 1993, SCC was founded with a desire to be a multiplying church that reaches Snohomish County and beyond. We invite people to KNOW and FOLLOW  Jesus, to GROW and be changed by Him, and to join us as we GO and serve His mission here and around the world.

our Values

Jesus Christ, first and foremost

We teach that Jesus is the Savior of the world and the only hope for mankind.

The Bible

At SCC we recognize the Bible as God’s perfect word to his followers. It is the source for all our sermons and the foundation for all other groups and classes.

The family

We are committed to helping you be the family member God calls you to be.

Snohomish/Lake Stevens

We love our community and long to be a lighthouse in her midst.

The world

We aim to spread the Gospel to all nations.

a summary of our beliefs

God
There is only one true God, eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Mankind / Humanity
Mankind was originally created in the image of God but sinned by disobeying God. The resulting ‘fall’ brought all mankind under divine judgment.

The Bible
The sole basis of our belief is the Bible. We believe it was uniquely, verbally and fully inspired by the Holy Spirit, and was written without error in its original recording. It is the supreme and final authority in all matters on which it speaks.

The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit came into the world to glorify Jesus Christ and to apply the saving work of Christ to people. He is involved in bringing people to salvation, in equipping them for service, and in enabling and empowering the believer to live the Christian life.

Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is God, who ‘became flesh’ by being conceived miraculously by the Holy Spirit and by being born of a virgin. Jesus lived a sinless life and then voluntarily paid for the sins of people by dying on the cross as their substitute. Jesus rose from the dead and ascended bodily into heaven where He, the only mediator between God and mankind, continually intercedes for His people.

The Second Coming of Christ
Jesus Christ will come again to the earth, personally, visibly, bodily, and will bring history to its conclusion, ushering in the final and eternal plan of God.

Salvation
The salvation of each person is wholly a work of God’s free grace and is in no part based on human effort or merit. God accounts Jesus’ perfect righteousness to anyone who puts faith in Christ alone for salvation.

The Local Church
Jesus Christ is the head of the church, His ‘body’ (those who have trusted Him as Savior). He urges His people to gather together regularly for worship, teaching and ministry. SCC is an independent local congregation of believers that seeks to please God by being Biblical in what we teach, evangelistic in concern for the unchurched, caring for the needy, contemporary in approach to ministry, and committed to preaching God’s Word in a relevant manner.
