Jeff and Sheny Walker

I, Jeff, grew up in Edmonds and came to Christ at the age of 15. I soon sensed a call to ministry through heavy involvement in witnessing, discipling, and church ministries at Alderwood Community Church.  During training at Moody Bible Institute, I felt called to Mexico, one of the least evangelized countries of Latin America. Sheny and I met during our studies at Moody in Chicago and did a lot of ministry together in a Hispanic church, where in 1983 we married.  We started ministry work in Mexico City for one term and then from 1988 to the present, in one of the least evangelized areas of central Mexico, Aguascalientes.

About 25 years ago our ministry expanded from evangelism and church planting to include camps. The Lord has blessed the Camp Ministry and even though they do not have city water or a deep well, through creative systems we are able to harvest and store clean water off the roofs into cisterns and run off water into ponds to provide for all the needs of the camp. The Lord also provided inexpensive recycled building materials (wood, metal roofing, etc.) to make a conference/dining hall and cabins.  Four work teams from SCC in the beginning years of the camp were very instrumental in giving a big boost to the Camp Ministry. Now for over 20 years the Camp Ministry has been a blessing and instrumental in impacting many lives.

For the last several years we also have expanded ministry to include a Kid’s Club outreach into an under privileged neighborhood, reaching kids for Christ from mostly single parent homes. It has been exciting to have a positive impact in these children through the Kid’s Clubs as well as the camps.
