David and Breanna Millard (Gabriel, Tobias, and Asher)

I, David, grew up in SCC and was involved in Bible quizzing, worship team, mission trips and youth group. I went to Moody Bible Institute and met Breanna there. We married after graduation and both felt called to Bible Translation. We feel strongly that the Word of God through the Holy Spirit changes lives and brings life. Together we joined Pioneer Bible Translators whose strategy is to use Bible translation as a tool to make disciples and plant churches. This strategy goes along with our heart to see people not only have the Word of God, but to have the community transformed by it.

God led us with our boys, Gabriel, Tobias, and Asher, to North Africa. We lived there for two years before having to relocate due to fighting breaking out in our town and across the country. God led us to a neighboring country where many of our neighbors had become refugees. God also led us to translators *Titus and *Silas. Together our team has drafted most of the Bible and published 8 books. In addition to the Bible translation, this team has worked with the community in publishing mostly community-created hymn books, helped pastors to get training, put on Biblical training for church leaders, and much more. Our goal is to work with the community to disciple leaders who can use the newly printed Scripture to teach and spread the gospel of Christ so that the eyes and hearts of the people may finally be open to receiving salvation in Christ.
